As a sole practitioner firm, every client works directly with the lawyer on their file from the initial inquiry through to resolution. There is no hand-off to a junior associate and no revolving door of unfamiliar faces. You receive direct, senior-level attention throughout.

05 How It Works

A clear path from first contact to resolution.

No mystery, no surprise invoices. Here is exactly what engaging Lexponent Legal looks like — from initial inquiry through to resolution.

01

Preliminary Inquiry

Submit your inquiry through the form below. You will be asked for basic information about your matter and the names of any opposing or involved parties so a conflict check can be completed before any consultation is confirmed.

02

Conflict Check & Response

Once a conflict check is cleared, you will be contacted to schedule an initial consultation. A response is provided within one business day in most circumstances.

03

Engagement & Strategy

If retained, you receive a written retainer agreement with clear scope, fee structure, and a strategic overview before any work begins. No ambiguity, no surprises.

04

Active Representation & Resolution

Regular updates and direct access to the lawyer on the file throughout. Whether by settlement, adjudication, or judgment — the matter is closed cleanly with documentation you can rely on going forward.

07 Common Questions

Answers before you pick up the phone.

Do you offer an initial consultation?
An initial consultation may be available following a conflict check and confirmation that the firm is able to assist. Any applicable fee will be confirmed before the consultation is scheduled. Submitting an inquiry through this website does not create a solicitor-client relationship and does not obligate either party to proceed.
What construction matters do you handle?
Lien claims and vacations under the Construction Act, breach of contract, delay and deficiency claims, trust fund disputes, prompt payment and adjudication proceedings, contract drafting and review, and related commercial disputes involving contractors, subcontractors, owners, and developers across Ontario.
How are fees structured?
Most matters are handled on an hourly basis with an estimate provided upfront. Fixed fees, limited retainers, and hybrid arrangements are available for suitable matters. All fee structures are confirmed in a written retainer agreement before any work begins.
Will I work directly with you throughout?
Yes. Lexponent Legal Professional Corporation is a sole practitioner firm. Every client works directly with the principal lawyer from the initial consultation through to resolution. There are no associates, no hand-offs, and no intermediaries handling your file.
How quickly can you respond to urgent matters?
Construction and lien deadlines are unforgiving, and urgent matters are treated accordingly. For time-sensitive files — preservation deadlines, injunctive relief, or imminent lien expiry — same-day contact and rapid strategy are the standard approach, subject to availability and conflict clearance.
Does submitting the inquiry form create a solicitor-client relationship?
No. Submitting an inquiry does not create a solicitor-client relationship, does not mean the matter has been accepted, and does not trigger any professional obligations. A relationship is established only upon execution of a written retainer agreement signed by both parties, following a conflict check and mutual agreement to proceed.
Should I send confidential documents through the form?
Please do not send confidential documents, time-sensitive materials, or sensitive details until a conflict check is complete and representation is confirmed in writing. The preliminary inquiry form gathers only the basic information needed to assess whether this firm can assist.
